The bow tie is back...
Keep an eye on silk bow ties at yard sales. A lot of 18 of them recently sold on eBay for $192! I bought these for two bucks each. After coming home and doing an eBay search, I realize that I should have bought the other ten that were at the yard sale. Oops.
I only had to watch three different videos ten times each in order to ties these. I don't know how the nerds do it.

Who knew! $192 bucks...amazing! Love the photo, how adorable. I can't even figure out a regular tie let alone a bow tie!

I like how you tied the bow ties on the urns. It looks like a picture from a magazine.
I discovered your blog through the Blog Her DIY section. I saw that you're going to BlogHer 09 in the post below. Don't worry about not knowing anyone. Everyone's friendly and you'll have a good time. I went last year and really enjoyed it. Too bad I can't go this year :(

I have two of them, but they are clip on, seriously! What fun ideas.

Well, maybe nerds are nerds because they spent all their time polishing up their bow tie tying techniques

My Aunt uses these to make quilts. The ties have to silk. Polyester just won't do.

I found your blog through a google search of vintage pageant ribbons - I am hooked! I took all my grandfather's bow ties last year when my grandmother moved and downsized! Love them!

Tying a bow tie is easy... as long as you don't look in a mirror until you are making the final adjustment. It's just like tying a shoelace - or, when you're tying a bowtie on someone else, it's just like tying a bow on a present. If you go by instinct (without looking in a mirror) it's a snap. If you can't get it, try it using a piece of twine or soft rope instead, until you get the hang of it. Also make sure the tie is adjusted to your collar size before starting or it will come out wonky.

Those urns with the bow ties are too cute! I just happen to have some urns, but the bow ties I have in my stash are clip-ons! Maybe some E-6000 will do the trick.....
