Remember the fabric-covered corkboards that I made a few months ago? I sold the two that I made in the tutorial, so I keep buying them whenever I find them at yard sales. I decided to make one for my kitchen last weekend. It's a big one, at 2 ft x 3 ft.
I painted the frame black (to match the accents & appliances in my kitchen), and used Erin Michael's Paint By Numbers fabric from her Uptown line by Moda. I love this fabric because it has all of the paint colors that I used in my house: tangerine, aqua, brown and green. Erin has a new line out called Lush, which includes another take on the paint-by-number (with deer). You can check it out on the Tula Pink blog. I trimmed the board with vintage orange and white woven rick-rack.

Thanks for all of the drink name suggestions! They were all so creative. My personal favorites are Lime Skyy Light, Junkin' Juice and The Skyy's the Lime-It. Has anyone tried the drink yet? My neighbor, The Tastykake Man, read my blog and decided to buy the ingredients. He went to the Wine & Spirits store, and learned that the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board does not sell Skyy Berry Vodka in the state of Pennsylvania. I swear, this place is like a friggin' communist state when it comes to liquor. Just one more reason why I drive ten minutes to Delaware for all of my boozing needs.

what a very neat cork board .. I love the fabric, I can't even believe that there is such a thing as paint-by-number fabric, I have been collecting the real ones for years..I must go to the blog and check it out. thanx for the tips.
Terri
btw, your blog is one of my very favs to read.

man, that is cute! i absolutely love reading your blog...my husband even lets me read excerpts aloud (that's a big deal around here).
i usually don't like fabric covered message boards, but i'm seriously thinking of making this one.

PA decidedly has the most fubar liquor laws I've encountered. Reminds me of being in HS in CT, where you can't buy after 8 pm. I could never explain to my parents why I had to bolt at 7:50 every Saturday night.
And yes, if you're doing the math, I'm OLD(ish), but the legal age was 18 back in the day.
Finally, to put it all in perspective, when we moved to CT, and it was down to a choice between buying 2 houses, my dad chose the one that wasn't in a "dry" town. 'Nuff said.
As always, Col, your post is cracking me up!

Just found your blog and although I am old enough to be your mother ( but I don't have the same foibles, just ones of my own) I really enjoy your humor and your fun ideas.

These boards are an awesome idea. I'm going to have to keep my eye out for cork boards at yard sales.

Going to have to make a message board for my "inspirations". I forgot about the goofy laws in other states re: liquor. Thank goodness here in MT we can drink from 8am to 2am, lol. Would never want to, but I guess we're pretty loose around here. Though I am still looking for Limade Light... piffel. :)

Very cute. It's pretty just like that. I'm not even sure I would tack anything to it. xoxo, Joanna

Yawn.
Let's hear more about Mom and me. We made her inoperable windows look like like functional ones with $2 project cardboard from Michaels. That was a much more creative task than your silly cork boards. (Just kidding). Maybe you and the Tastykake man can turn his delivery truck into a Delaware rum runner on the weekends.

Thankyou for the inspiration! Like you, I tend to buy these cork boards whenever I see them and now have quite a collection. Now I know what to do with them.
