Wow - I can't believe all of the responses I received from my latest "What the Hell Is It?" game! I had the same ideas that most of you had: a fireplace cover, the top of a garden trellis, or the cover for a window well. I still don't know for sure, so if you have any more suggestions, feel free to leave a comment on that post.
Here are a few more things that I bought this week. I spent twenty dollars on all of these thrift store goodies:
The Vornado Jr. fan, Mayfair candy tin, Fire King jadite swirl mixing bowl, green Haeger pitcher, two enamel covered refrigerator dishes, a set of small green trays...
...a metal paper organizer and five old metal graters. Those graters aren't worth a lot, but they would look great hanging on a wall. Or maybe dangling as a crib mobile in a vintage-style baby's room?
Oh, calm down...you could take it down when the baby starts to pull himself up. Anyway, a couple of shredded fingers never killed anyone.
And here's a recent makeover that I did on a vanity table that I found at a rare winter yard sale a few weeks ago. It was pretty beat up and was missing a knob on its drawer.
I added a vintage glass knob. The same knobs that I had in my old kitchen.
You could throw a glass knob onto a pile of dog crap, and I would probably pay money for it.
