Fees, Please

Here is the final breakdown of all of the fees for my Lego auctions. I ended up clearing $503.68, which means I paid about 11% of the total price in eBay and PayPal fees. I would say that it was worth paying 11%! Where else would I find people who are willing to spend over one hundred dollars on Legos! The man from South Korea who won three of the auctions paid $99 for Express Mail International. Are they that desperate for Legos in South Korea?  Are any of my dear blog readers from there? Care to explain?!

Thanks to everyone who left helpful comments on my last post. The international shipping was easier than I thought, and I am going to look into doing it online through usps.com next time.

I can't have a post without sharing some of the stuff I found this week. Here are $15 worth of thrift store finds...

  • 2 tin recipe boxes
  • Glass cake plate with metal cover
  • Box of poker chips
  • Bench (I'll paint it and change the fabric)
  • Glass jar with aqua flowers
  • Apple pie dish with recipe
  • Pink Pyrex casserole dish
  • 3 milk glass plates
  • Souvenir mug for "Lompoc Flower Festival"
  • Foley Foods chopper with red handle
  • Linen Abruzzo Italy cloth

My mom had a recipe box like those bottom two. Wish I still had it, it'd be so chic now.

I'm TOTALLY looking for some legos next time I go thrifting! That's a heck of a profit!

I love seeing what you've found while thrifting, you certainly have an eye for it! You were in the right place right time for the Lego, what a result! I sell on Ebay too sometimes, mostly clothing but occasionally I pick up other bits. I find posting overseas no more difficult than posting in the UK, the only drawback is the cost, it isn't always viable if something's very heavy. Poeple just don't want to pay high postage costs.Lookig forward to seeing more of your finds!

You know we are all going to start looking for legos.
See what you started.
Congrats on that one!!
Have a great weekend!

Oh, I have that same recipe box! (The pink Ohio Art one...I didn't know it was Ohio art though). I love it, so cute!
I'm glad I stumbled across your blog (I used to be one of the gals on your junk mama's site). It's great to "see" you again.

I better check if our box of legos is worth anything!
Love that recipe box. I also have a few milk glass plates like that, love it when I find them.

Oh! I could cry right now looking at that pink tin recipe box. I used to have one like that and it belonged to my grandmother, who is now deceased. It is now long gone. Sniff.

Your Lego auctions are very impressive! I admire your organization and patience in counting those pieces, too. But it seems like it was worth it!

Isn't it hilarious what people will buy, and more importantly what they'll pay for something. I auctioned off a scrapbook a few years ago. The final price was $85! I never thought anyone would pay that much for a scrapbook. Of course that is nothing compared to your lego goldmine. What a great find!

I love those recipe boxes! Darn, you always find the greatest stuff!

The recipe box? I just found one at Junk Jaunt this year FULL of recipes. www.junkjaunt.com. I found your website as I was trying to identify my Kobrn Style Dansk casserole. I also have the turquoise one without a lid and a cobalt one with a lid. Awesome blog!
